MUSCAT : Within the framework of municipal laws and regulations, the Muscat Municipality, represented by the Directorate General of Muscat Municipality in Seeb, carried out inspections of 211 shops to ensure compliance with the necessary health requirements and preventive measures.

The inspection resulted in issuing 10 violations of health requirements, including fast food stores, and resulted in the destruction of 225.6 kilograms of items unfit for human consumption; a number of drinking water samples were also withdrawn from schools to ensure their conformity with standard specifications.

Muscat Municipality continues its efforts in the field of food establishments related to public health, through the implementation of a series of inspection campaigns and awareness and educational programs to ensure their compliance with health requirements. These preventive and precautionary measures ensure the safety of workers, and establish the responsibility of owners of these shops and service providers to implement steps for the safety of the members of society and improve their services and products.

The Municipality called on the public to communicate any observations related to municipal services and health activities, by calling the toll free number of the Muscat Municipality Call Center (1111) or through the center’s accounts on social media.
