MUSCAT: His Highness Sayyid Theyazin Bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, launched the Wusool project, managing electronic documents and documents, held at an impressive ceremony at Majan Hall of Al Bustan Palace Hotel here on Monday.

Wusool project is one of the most important national digital transformation projects led by the National Records and Archives Authority in the Sultanate and embodies the government’s directions towards strengthening e-government in implementation of the Oman Vision 2040.

The project seeks to provide a system for managing documents and electronic documents that includes all the features necessary to manage the document from the moment it is created until it reaches its final hand.

The system is also capable of managing the spaces that save paper files, submitting requests related to correcting errors and contains an application that works on phones.

Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dhawani, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority, said that Wusool is one of the most important national projects related to digital transformation and includes all the characteristics necessary to manage the document from the moment it is created until it reaches its final destiny in an ideal manner complied with the National Procedures Manual for the Management of Electronic Documents and Documents.

He added that the project aims to unify policies, increase efficiency and effectiveness of government agencies, enable them to communicate electronically and quickly, as well as protect the system in managing information content.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and the backup environment will be in the National Records and Archives Authority.

“The first phase of the project will include 20 government agencies that are in the process of launching the operational work for this day, while we look forward to the inclusion of the second phase for 38 other entities,” he said and added that the project received care and attention in terms of harnessing expertise and capabilities in providing support and security examination of the system by the National Defence Center and security follow-up that guarantees the project’s ability to achieve its objectives in all fields and objectives, and with the support and coordination with the company Neogene.

The ceremony included a visual presentation telling the renewed renaissance of Oman, which was supervised by the National Records and Archives Authority and embodies the modern Omani renaissance, and a promotional video for the Wusool and another presentation entitled ‘Arrival of a work cell’.
