MUSCAT: Member of the Jordanian House of Representatives and Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Khalil Attia, affirmed that the Jordanian-Omani relations are rooted in history and are expressed through harmony and a strong belief in unity.

Speaking to the Jordanian newspaper Al-Dustour, he noted that the common denominators between Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman are numerous, and the relations are positive and balanced based on mutual respect, consultation and the promotion of joint Arab action.

He pointed out that the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the Sultanate of Oman comes before the holding of the Arab summit in Algeria next month. From here, coordination is a very important step, he stated, adding that the two countries will discuss conditions in the region and common issues, especially the Palestinian issue.

Attia indicated that the economic aspect will take place in the talks, as strengthening economic cooperation is a necessity and there are promising investment opportunities that need cooperation, as the total volume of trade exchange between the Sultanate of Oman and Jordan during the first five months of this year was $45.3 million.
