MUSCAT : Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al-Ghabshi, Wali of Al-Amerat, the Muscat Electricity Distribution Company held a symposium on ‘National Support of Electricity for Deserving Families’, at the Wali’s office.
The Symposium was organised as a part of the Company’s social responsibility measure to educate subscribers on the issue of national electricity subsidies, which targets the eligible categories of Omani families – families whose monthly income does not exceed OMR 1250, depending on the number of members in the family. The symposium also included a workshop targeting voluntary institutions, charities, sports teams, zakat and alms committees, which deal directly with underprivileged families, in order to identify these families and help them update their data with the Company and ensure that they benefit from the national support for electricity.
