Oman News Agency and India’s Asian News International sign a MoU

The Ministry of Information, represented by the Oman News Agency, signed a memorandum of understanding with Asian News International in the fields of news and information exchange.

MUSCAT : The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Ibrahim bin Saif Al-Azri, Director General and Editor-in-Chief of the Oman News Agency and by H.E. Amit Narang, Indian Ambassador, in the presence of H.E. V. Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs of India, at the Indian Embassy in Muscat.


The MoU will facilitate exchange of pictures, videos and news bulletins in English, in addition to training courses and scientific research in the fields of news and press reports.


India’s Minister welcomed the memorandum, as it will enhance the rates of news exchange between the two agencies; it will also benefit the two sides with exchange of expertise in the field of training media professionals in par with modern technical developments and new digital media, thereby enhancing the level of relations between the two agencies.


In a statement following the signing ceremony, Ibrahim Al-Azri, said the cooperation in the field of news would support the media work between the two sides, and that this memorandum would provide a distinguished news service, benefitting subscribers of the agency, with access to newer sources of news.
