MUSCAT: A fraternal meeting has been held between His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Al Alam Palace here on Wednesday.

The Sultanate’s official news agency, Oman News Agency tweeted: “His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a fraternal meeting at Al Alam Palace, during which the two leaders discussed the course of the deep-rooted historical relations linking the two countries and aspects of close cooperation between them. They affirmed their continuous aspiration and their constant keenness to advance it towards broader horizons in various fields for the benefit, goodness and development of their two brotherly countries and its people.”

The UAE President also visited the National Museum here on Wednesday and listened to a full explanation of the museum and the important aspects of the Sultanate’s history and civilization.

The meeting was attended by Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, and His Highness Sayyid Dhi Yazan bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth.

On the Emirati side, it was attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court.
