5.0-magnitude earthquake jolts in southern Iran

It hit the outskirts of the province of Hormozgan at 7:25 pm local time and no casualties have been reported

MUSCAT: A 5.0-magnitude earthquake on the Richter Scale has shaken southern Iran, according to the Earthquake Monitoring Centre of Sultan Qaboos University on Sunday evening.

The quake hit the outskirts of the province of Hormozgan, in southern Iran, 147km from Khasab at a depth of 10 km at 7.25pm local time on Sunday.

No report on the scale of losses and possible damage from the earthquake has been reported.
