MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman will host the IronMan World Championship to be held in three different venues in Salalah on Saturday. Royal Oman Police tweeted on Friday that traffic will be closed on some roads.
At least 700 athletes including women and children from all around the world will take part in the IronMan comprising triathlon – cycling(90km), swimming (1.9 km)and cross country (21.1km) races. The event is also a qualifying round for the IronMan 70.3 World Championship.
Competitions will also be held simultaneously for women (IronGirls) and kids (IronKids) categories ahead of the actual event on Saturday.
