MUSCAT: Rare images of a female Arabian leopard and her young cub were sighted in the Jabal Samhan Reserve of Dhofar Governorate.
The early results of a survey in the Jabal Samhan Reserve provided rare images of the leopard and her weeks old cub which is a positive indicator for the survival and reproduction of this species in its natural environment.
Other species of the Nubian ibex and the Arabian wolf too were sighted in the reserve, according to the Office for Conservation of Environment in the Governorate of Dhofar.

The Environment Authority in the Governorate of Dhofar is implementing a project to survey large mammals and it will continue till the end of 2022.
The project is a continuation of the efforts made by the Environment Authority to expand the ranges of environmental knowledge in the environments of large mammals, especially those listed as threatened with extinction, such as the Arabian leopard, in addition to re-evaluating the behavior of these species with human and natural variables.
