MUSCAT: A truck which was loaded with dangerous materials had been seized, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) said on Thursday.
The authority also added that legal procedures are being taken against the company.
An official statement from the CDAA said: “The Directorate General of Civil Protection at the authority continued to observe the parking of a truck loaded with dangerous materials in a residential neighbourhood, in violation of safety requirements. The legal procedures are being completed against the company. “
It is noteworthy that the intervention of the CDAA came after an alert citizen Rashid Muhammad Al-Alawi tweeted: “Dear brothers in the Royal Oman Police; A group of trucks, including those loaded with dangerous materials, take a permanent stand at the entrance to the Mahamed Government School in Mawaleh, and despite the police’s continued management of the school, no action was taken, and you know the dangers of these trucks.”
