MUSCAT: Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, has issued a Ministerial Decision (494/2022) naming the head and members of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Elections Committee.
Article (1) states the OCCI Elections Committee shall be headed by Dr. Saleh Said Salim Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.
Article (2) stipulates that the committee shall practise its specializations stated in OCCI Election Committees Regulation. The panel’s specializations include supervising elections, proposing elections’ sub-committees, determining voting and candidacy dates (and options to extend the same if deemed necessary) checking requests for candidacy, endorsing the final lists of voters and candidates approving related forms (for voting, objections, petition) and approving the final results of voting.

Article (3) says that this decision shall be enforced on the day following its date of publishing in the Official Gazette.
