MUSCAT: In line with its role in strengthening national development and extending support to sports activities and tourism promotion initiatives, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider has extended its strong support to the School Beach Games Championship 2022 organised by the Oman School Sports Association at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah from 5^th to 10^th August 2022. Over 150 students in the 13-16 age group are participating in the event, which includes beach volleyball and beach handball. Also, a blood donation campaign and awareness lectures in sports, nutrition and health are being held along the sidelines of the two games.

Founded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in 2016, the Oman School Sports Association is a non-profit entity established for the community’s benefit, and organises a number of events, tournaments, and competitions throughout the academic year. The School Beach Games Championship, which is being held during the Khareef in Dhofar, will be helpful in creating a pipeline of future national and international players for Oman’s sports teams. School sports tournaments like these aim to boost the physical, mental, social, and psychological strengths of students and provide them the ability to face various challenges with confidence and patience. The holding of such events are also helpful in promoting domestic tourism, sports activities as well as improving positive behaviour and a healthy lifestyle amongst young people.

Over the past many years, Bank Muscat has successfully supported a number of initiatives and events as a means of facilitating national development goals. The bank successfully supported the inaugural Tour of Salalah in 2021, and the Tour of Oman in previous years as part of its efforts to contribute to successful Public-Private partnership. It also regularly supports the Muscat Festival and the Salalah Festival along with several other events hosted by the Sultanate to help promote tourism in Oman.
