MUSCAT: President Joe Biden of the United States of America (USA) has hailed the central role played by the Sultanate of Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, in securing the extension of the truce in the Republic of Yemen.
In a statement issued by the White House, President Biden expressed his gratitude for Oman’s role in advancing the truce through calls which took place between Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and his American counterpart Tony Blinken, along with Rashad Al Alimi, President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council.
The United Nations announced yesterday that the Yemeni parties reached an agreement to extend the truce for two more months.
