MUSCAT: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has clarified that no casualties were recorded on Monday as a result of heavy rains and the flow of valleys.
The authority has stressed that it has taken all needed measures for ensuring that those who endangered themselves and others will be dealt with through legal channels. Some people were found swimming in dangerous places, the authority said.
The CDAA teams in South Al Batinah Governorate supported the concerned authorities to open the paths of roads damaged by heavy rains and the flow of valleys, and helped protect citizens, residents and visitors in the Sultanate of Oman.

On Monday, August 1, rescue teams dealt with 12 reports of people being stranded in vehicles in wadi streams in the governorates of North Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliya, Al Dhahirah, and Al Buraimi. Also, 13 people were rescued from wadi streams, all of whom are in good health.
Chances of formation of cumulus clouds continue on Tuesday and Wednesday over the Hajar Mountains and adjacent areas.
Thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by the flow of valleys can be expected on both the days.
