MUSCAT: The value of real estate trading in Oman reached about OMR 1.179 billion by the end of June 2022, the statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has revealed.
This a decrease of 7.3 per cent compared to the same period in 2021, which amounted to OMR 1.272 billion.
The statistics issued by NCSI showed that the total fees collected for all legal transactions amounted to OMR 30.4 million, compared to OMR 50.9 million during the same period in 2021, which is a decrease of 40.4 per cent.

The statistics also indicated a decrease in sale contracts by 18.2 percent until June 2022, but the traded value of sales contracts increased by 2 per cent compared to the same period in 2021.
A total of 116,234 properties were issued, compared to 129,149 properties in the same period in 2021, which is a decrease of 9.9 percent. While the total ownerships issued to the sons of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf until the end of last June reached 353.
The number of sale contracts amounted to 35,978 contracts with a total value of more than OMR 613.7 million. The number of swap contracts reached 677 contracts with a total value of more than OMR 7.4 million.
The number of mortgage contracts grew by 3.1 percent to reach 9,527 contracts, with a total value of more than OMR 558.2 million, compared to 9,242 contracts, with a total value of OMR 659.8 million during the same period in 2021.
