MUSCAT: The Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce, on Sunday, signed a trilateral memorandum of understanding (MOU) to facilitate the export of non-oil goods to the Sultanate.
The memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce, Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) and Iran’s Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO).
This MoU would also increase the volume of trade between the two countries. The main objective of this memorandum is to facilitate the participation of manufacturers and production units in Iran in specialised exhibitions in Oman. Additionally, it will also increase the presence of Iranian products in the Oman market.

According to a Tehran-based publication, the two parties will cooperate to provide capable local producers located in the industrial parks with special incentives and support such as subsidies.
Ali Peyman Pak, head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO), pointed out that a direct shipping line between Iran and Oman will be established with the support of the two governments. He also said that based on this memorandum, Iranian delegations will increase in the Sultanate of Oman.
“Signing this memorandum is in line with the general policies of Trade Promotion Organization for integrating and regulating all the government affairs related to the development of foreign trade. This will have the greatest impact on trade with neighbouring countries,” he stressed.
