MUSCAT: Acting in cooperation with Oman Chamber of Commerce (OCCI) branch in Dhofar, the United States (US) embassy in the Sultanate of Oman held an orientation meeting on the Oman-US free trade agreement (FTA).
Zia Ahmed, Political and Economic Section Chief at the US embassy, said in a speech that the FTA assumes significance as a major framework for commercial exchange and economic cooperation between Oman and the United States.
Gary Schumann, Chief Commercial Officer at the US embassy here, said that trade between the two countries saw 40% growth due to the FTA, which created new investment opportunities in various fields.
