MUSCAT: The Food Safety and Quality Centre (FSQC) has issued a warning to consumers about the ethylene oxide contamination of vanilla-flavored ice cream items manufactured in France under the Haagen-Dazs brand.
The operational batch numbers (3415581311716 – 3415581101010 – 3415580503518 – 3415581586718) for the validity period from July 6, 2022, to May 21, 2023, were contaminated with ethylene oxide.

The centre would like to reaffirm that it has done everything possible to prevent the import of the aforementioned product at the border crossing points. The authorities are currently working in coordination with the relevant authorities and looking into other operations to ensure that it is removed from the local markets.
