MUSCAT: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion issued a ministerial decision regarding the regulation of home production work.

The decision aims to enable businesses that can be run by citizens from their homes. These businesses are considered micro-projects to boost the income of home business owners.

The statistics issued by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion revealed that 9092 registrations were recorded under home business.

The ministerial decision affirmed that everyone who engages in home business must adjust their conditions in accordance with the provisions of the attached regulation within 6 months from the date of its implementation.

The ministerial resolution regulating the practice of some individual production work is also repealed. The decision also prohibits establishing home businesses without obtaining a license from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in coordination with the competent authority.
