NEW DELHI: NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu defeated opposition nominee Yashwant Sinha by a wide margin after the third round of counting, reaching the 50% threshold.
Murmu has received 2,161 of the 3,219 valid votes that have been counted thus far, while Sinha received 1,058.
Yashwant Sinha, the opponent of Droupadi Murmu in the presidential election, congratulated her shortly after the third round of vote tallying confirmed her victory.
