MUSCAT: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority team has been constantly in search of the family of five people who were drifted away due to strong waves.
An expatriate family comprising of eight people including three children was swept away by strong waves in Al Mughsayl area in Dhofar Governorate on Sunday.
In a statement issued, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) said they managed to rescue three people, while five are still missing. “They were trying to cross the safety barrier of Al Mughsayl beach in Dhofar Governorate.”
