Turkish defence manufacturer to set up repair centre in Oman

MUSCAT: The Turkish defence manufacturer FNSS signed an agreement with Oman’s Ministry of Defence to establish a maintenance and repair centre for armoured vehicles.

The company will be responsible for the centre’s architectural design, making provisions for necessary equipment and operating it.

The company will also establish the infrastructure in line with the additional needs, train RAO personnel to operate it, provide monitoring and consulting services and train the RAO for technical and administrative know how.

Through this project, FNSS will contribute to supporting and developing Oman’s national industries, strengthen small and medium-sized companies, and create training and employment opportunities.

The Turkish manufacturer has delivered a total of 172 Pars III 6×6 and 8×8 armoured vehicles in 13, with deliveries beginning in 2017 and completed in 2020.
