MUSCAT: Several people including children were rescued as heavy rainfall battered in parts of Oman on Thursday.
Rescue teams at the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department (CDAA) managed to rescue three people after their vehicles were detained in the Wadi Shaya stream in the Wilayat of Sur. “They are all in good health,” CDAA said.
CDAA also managed to rescue four people including children after they were reportedly stranded in a house in Jabal Shams due to the high level of rainwater. “The teams were able to rescue them and hand them over to their families. They are in good health,” CDAA added.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued an alert ahead of heavy rainfall that is expected to fall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. According to CDAA, rainfall in some areas will range from 20-80 millimeters in 24 hours.
