MUSCAT: Students from the National College of Automotive Technology in Oman created safety systems in a model car that contains a built-in pressure piston to change the car’s tire.

Mohammed bin Habib Al-Ajmi, “The simulator is characterised by the presence of a car lift installed under the car that works by using air pressure. The aim is to prevent the car lifter from slipping and hitting the vehicle on the ground if the crane is used.”

He added, “The concept car also has a safety feature which stops the engine when the fuel cap is opened at petrol filling stations. This will prevent any accidents that might occur while the engine is still running.”

Al-Ajmi indicated that the project was financially supported by the National College of Automotive Technology. The skilled team of four students aspire to manufacture innovative cars in Oman.
