Taqah Castle in Oman undergoes restoration work

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has begun the Taqah Castle maintenance project, which is one of the important landmarks in Dhofar Governorate.

The work is focused on the restoration and maintenance of the walls and ceilings of the landmark, in addition to treating the floors in all its parts. The project will be completed in the first quarter of 2023.

Engineer Amjad bin Ahmed Al-Mukhaldi, Director of the Department of Restoration and Maintenance, stated that the work is taking place at an accelerated pace.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism pays great attention to the maintenance and restoration of archaeological monuments through a number of projects that were recently launched and assigned in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
