MUSCAT: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed Oman’s sympathy with Iran over the devastating earthquake that struck southern Iran on Saturday.
At least five people have died and dozens of others injured after at least three earthquakes with a preliminary magnitude of more than six hit the province of Hormozgan.
In a statement issued, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “MOFA expresses the Sultanate of Oman’s sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the friendly Islamic Republic of Iran and to the families of the victims who died as a result of the earthquake that hit Hormozgan. We also wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured.”
