MUSCAT: Oman is considering a plan to give long-term residency to expat innovators, creators, programmers and entrepreneurs in the second phase of the investor residency program, a top official said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference, Khalid Al Shuaibi, Head of National Program for Investment and Export Development, “Nazdaher” said that the second phase of the investor residency program will have more categories. However, the second phase requires approval from the Council of Ministers.
“After implementing the first phase, we discovered that there is an increasing demand from other potential categories of some innovators and important segments of the economy. We have submitted this proposal to the Council of Ministers for approval,” he added.

Currently, the Sultanate offers 10-year and five-year long-term visas to expat investors who meet certain conditions.
