MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman has been making sincere efforts to resolve tensions in the Middle East, a new report by the American Brookings Institution has stated.
Iraq has been hosting talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran to resolve tensions in the region and restore diplomatic relations. The report has stressed that the Sultanate of Oman is part of this mediation process.
The report pointed out that war is a humanitarian catastrophe, with hundreds of thousands of Yemeni civilians losing lives due to malnutrition and related diseases. Children in Yemen were the most vulnerable, and therefore putting an end to the war would save tens of thousands of lives.
