Omani vessel participates in Kiel Maritime Week 2022

The Royal Navy of Oman ship Shabab Oman II had embarked on its sixth international voyage on April 11.

MUSCAT: The Royal Navy of Oman ship Shabab Oman II participated in Kiel Maritime Week 2022 in Kiel, Germany, as part of its sixth international voyage to the European continent.

Shabab Oman II has been docked in the port of Kiel in the German city of Kiel from last Friday, after traveling more than 7,500 nautical miles, since she set sails on April 11. She will stay in Kiel until June 26.

The ship has participated in many sporting events, marine competitions and other competitions that will be held during the days of the Maritime Festival.

Shabab Oman II would introduce the authentic Omani culture at its various international stations, in addition to viewing the photo gallery on board that highlights the most important historical, cultural and developmental landmarks of the Sultanate.

This is the sixth international voyage for the vessel. The ship’s farewell ceremony was officially sponsored by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court at Saeed bin Sultan Naval Base.
