MUSCAT: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman to the United States has thanked the US State Department for its joint cooperation in the fields of environment, climate and renewable energy.
In a tweet on Sunday, the embassy stated that this matter comes within the pillars of the Oman 2040 vision.
The US State Department, in a tweet, stressed the importance of Oman’s ratification of the Global Methane Pledge Initiative and the GMP Energy Path, describing it as a wonderful step.

The department said that reducing methane emissions, especially in the oil and gas sector, is critical to maintaining global warming at 1.5°C and averting the effects of climate change.
