MUSCAT: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) on Sunday increased the Haj quota with an additional 2,000 worshippers to perform the pilgrimage this year.
In a statement issued, the Oman Haj Committee said a total of 8,338 pilgrims will visit Saudi Arabia from Oman for Haj.
“We have increased the quota of pilgrims for 1443 AH with 2,000 pilgrims and a total number of 8,338 pilgrims,” the statement said.

Earlier, MERA said a total of 6,338 worshipers from Oman will be able to go on Haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia this year after Saudi Arabia reduced the quota by 43% due to the pandemic.
