MUSCAT : Yoga – a symbol of universal health and well-being, be it physical or mental, has been fast gaining popularity in the Sultanate of Oman. Over the years, an increasing number of yoga enthusiasts from different nationalities have been participating in the International Day of Yoga (IDY). 

Attesting to the global following for yoga, the United Nations declared 21 June as the ‘International Day of Yoga’ in 2014. The International Day of Yoga has turned into a global movement for holistic health and well-being. The art of yoga is celebrated all over the world every year on 21 June with great enthusiasm and fervour.

Yoga – the need of the hour

With the life-changing pandemic that shook our very core struck, scores of people from around the world were taken to yoga as a way to remain healthy – mentally and physically. Rightfully so, yoga has been attributed to wellness in all aspects. In a time and age when wellness isn’t just a trend but the need of the hour, yoga keeps us connected to our core.
