MUSCAT : Leading global tyre brand Nexen Tire came away with a pair of prestigious prizes at the renowned Red Dot Awards 2022 held in Germany recently. They were the latest in a series of accolades garnered by the reputable Korean tyre brand over the past several years.

Nexen Tire’s N’blue 4Season 2 and N’blue 4Season Van scooped the coveted honours in the product design category of this year’s Red Dot Awards – one of the world’s best known design competitions. More than 7,900 product entries from over 60 countries competed for recognition in this category. They were evaluated against nine design elements, including aesthetics, functionality, quality, ergonomics, durability, and innovation.

An all-weather tyre that performs reliably even in the most challenging climatic conditions, the N’blue 4Seaon 2 is simply revolutionary in its design. A wide range of grooves on its surface allows for smooth drainage performance on wet roads, a feature that is further augmented by the fine micro cuff design on the pattern surface. This V-pattern design is an improvement over the first-generation version, thereby ensuring superior performance on wet or snow-covered roads.

Additionally, the shoulder block incorporates 3D cuff technology, which contributes to increased block rigidity for stable handling performance in all kinds of weather conditions. Besides, the block edge design, which has saw-blade like features, improves braking performance in snow conditions.

While the N’blue 4Season 2 is ideal for passenger cars, the equally successful N’blue 4Season Van is an all-season tyre designed specifically for vans. Its wide longitudinal and transverse groove ensures smooth drainage performance on wet roads, thus enabling stable driving even in difficult weather conditions. Likewise, the application of a wave-shaped cuff ensures smooth performance in snowy conditions.

Further, to prevent abnormal wear and tear, the ground surface with the road is evenly maintained. And, in anticipation of heavy loads, the tyre features a reinforced structure and long durability compound.

Significantly, the N’blue 4Season Van was earlier recognized for its competitive design at the 2021 Japan Good Design Awards. The N’blue 4Season 2, for its part, is slated to enjoy the spotlight at the upcoming Tire Cologne 2022 event.
