MUSCAT: Qatar’s leading tech startup, Snoonu, has announced the acquisition of Oman’s first food delivery platform Akeed for $10mn.
The announcement was made by Hamad Mubarak Al Hajri, CEO and co-founder of Snoonu during an event in Doha on Saturday. With the acquisition, Snoonu looks to expand in the Omani market. “The acquisition was a decision that took based on Akeed’s excellent reputation as one of the leading food delivery platforms in Oman,” Al Hajri said.
Akeed CEO Gaurav Anil Nahar said the company is pleased to conclude this agreement with Snoonu. “We look forward to a future vision that brings us in the Sultanate of Oman the latest in e-commerce and the logistics sector,” he added. In December 2021, Akeed raised $2.5 million in a Series A round, backed by Phaze Ventures and IDO (Sovereign Fund).
Founded in 2018 by Moosa Al Lawati, Gaurav Nahar, and Darshan Puranik, Akeed provides its customers with on-demand food delivery services.
