MUSCAT: Salalah Mills Company has confirmed its contract to purchase 180,000 tons of wheat from India and Australia.
The shipment of wheat is expected to arrive within the next three months.
Ahmed bin Alawi Al-Dhahab, CEO of Salalah Mills Company, said that the contracted quantity is sufficient until the end of 2022.

The ship Valiant Sumer has left the Indian port of Kandla heading to the Port of Salalah in the Dhofar Governorate carrying 66,000 tons of wheat supplied by an Indian company.
The CEO also said that the company is currently looking to cover its wheat needs for the first half of next year 2023.
Salalah Mills is one of the largest mills in the Sultanate of Oman and operates with a production capacity of 1,500 tons per day and imports more than 400,000 tons of wheat annually.
