MUSCAT: Oman’s sought after art gallery Alia Gallery has collaborated with Milan-based Kooness, a leading marketplace for art.

Alia Gallery is Omani artist Alia Al Farsi’s brainchild. It was the artist’s childhood dream to create her own space for art in Oman and the journey for this began in 1993. Since then, She participated in regional and international art fairs representing Oman and eventually built her own brand.

After her exhibition at Vienna Biennale and Art Basel in 2017, Alia managed to put together a rather decent collection of art as well as clients who were keen art collectors. It was then she had a eureka moment to build her own sanctum of art in her homeland – Oman. And voila, so came the birth of Alia Gallery.

The gallery began as a showcase hall and a small public library in 2020. The gallery is now one of the world’s largest private art galleries, including a cafe and gift store, as well as a network of branches and partnerships at airports, hotels, and luxury automobile showrooms.

Kooness is an online platform that allows one to step into the fine art gallery world by providing virtual access to galleries all over the world. It is a revolutionary way to explore and collect art by buying directly from the finest art galleries.
