MUSCAT: Strict legal action will be taken against those trying to enter Oman’s nature reserves without prior permission, the country’s Environment Authority (EA) has warned on Sunday.

In a statement issued, EA said it had recently noticed some people trying to enter the nature reserves without prior permission from the authority, “thus violating the wildlife rules and the sanctity of these nature reserves and the purposes for which they were established, including photography enthusiasts, adventurers and beekeepers.”

EA also issued following regulations:

1. It is strictly forbidden to enter the nature reserves of the authority in the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman without a permit.
2. Photography and publishing pictures of living creatures in social media without consent is prohibited.
3. It is forbidden to practice walking, climbing and other sports inside the nature reserves without the Authority’s approval.

The authority said that it will take legal measures against violators, based on the law on natural reserves and wildlife conservation.
