MUSCAT: Oman’s airports clocked more than a million passengers, with an 85% increase in the number of arrivals, by the end of February 2022.
According to a statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total number of passengers arriving, departing and transiting Muscat, Sohar, Salalah and Duqm airports reached 1,103,990.
The number of incoming and outgoing international and domestic flights through various airports by the end of February 2022 recorded a remarkable growth of 80.2%.

Statistics also indicated that the incoming and outgoing domestic flights through the airports of Muscat, Salalah, Sohar and Duqm recorded an increase of 30.4%, bringing the number to 1,973 domestic flights, compared to the same period in 2021, which amounted to 1,512 flights.
Meanwhile, international air traffic through Muscat International Airport witnessed an increase in the number of flights by 72.2%, and the total number of international passengers (arrivals, departures and transfers) increased by 67.6%, from 471,087 passengers at the end of February 2021 to 789,682 passengers at the end of February 2022.
