MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Oman Sail, is preparing to host the final round of the RC 44 Cup International, with the participation of ten RC 44 class boats from the commercial business sector around the world.
The final round will be held at Al Mouj Marina Muscat from December 7 to 11. The five-round tournament will see participation from Britain, Monaco, France, Slovenia and Sweden teams.
The fourth and pre-final round will be held on the beaches of the Slovenian city of Portoroz from October 12 to 16, after which the last round will be held at Al Mouj Muscat Marina.

Dr. Khamis bin Salem Al Jabri, CEO of Oman Sail, said, “We are proud to host this prestigious tournament once again, which will witness the participation of a group of distinguished entrepreneurs from different countries of the world. Undoubtedly, the tournament will be a forum for businessmen and the exchange of commercial and investment opportunities.”
He added, “The RC44 Championship races are characterised by a high level of performance, and a group of professional sailors participate in its competitions, along with boat owners in its leadership, and we look forward to welcoming them all to the Sultanate of Oman.”
Oman Sail previously hosted the inaugural round of the RC44 Cup in 2013, in which the Aqua team won the championship title. It also hosted the final round in 2014, during which the Neka team won the Oman Tour Cup and the Aqua team won the title for the fourth time in its history.
