MUSCAT: Oman’s natural gas production including imports by the end of March 2022 witnessed a slight increase of 0.8 percent amounting to over 11.7 billion cubic meters, as compared to 11.6 billion cubic meters at the end of March 2021.
Based on the data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), it has been noted that the consumption of natural gas in industrial areas was up by 13.9 percent at the end of March 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, and consumption of natural gas in industrial projects has seen an increase of 4.8 percent.
Gas consumption witnessed a decrease in oil fields by 7 percent, and power plants by 3.3 percent at the end of March 2022.
