MUSCAT: Oman’s high-speed broadband internet provider Awasr said services have been gradually restored after temporary outage in some areas of Muscat.
On Friday, May 6, Awasr said its internet services were disrupted due to an outage “beyond control.” The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) also alerted the subscribers about the outage. “The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority would like to warn that Awasr’s services have been affected due to a technical failure on the evening of Friday, May 6, 2022, in some wilayats of the Governorate of Muscat.”
However, on Saturday, Awasr issued the statement stating that the services have been restored.
“We would like to inform you of the return of the Internet service and the service of calling the customer service number 80001000. We thank you for your kind appreciation and understanding,” the statement said.
