MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have signed a mutual visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic, special, service and official passports.
The agreement signed by Sultanate’s ambassador to Vietnam, His Excellency Saleh bin Mohammad Al-Saqri and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu on Thursday, April 28, 2022 in Hanoi.
Vietnamese and Omani citizens possessing diplomatic, special, or official passports valid for at least six months will be permitted visa-free entry, stay, transit, and exit within 90 days of entry after the agreement comes into force.

Those who wish to stay for more than 90 days must follow the proper processes to request a visa from the concerned authorities within 90 days of their entry.
The signing of the agreement is significant in the development of relations between the two nations, as it establishes favourable conditions for delegation exchanges and economic, trade, and tourism partnerships.
