MUSCAT: Oman Cricket is set to launch the country’s first-ever 10-over tennex ball tournament during this summer’s off-season, starting May 13, 2022. 92 teams will compete for top spot, with the matches held at Oman Cricket’s Municipality Ground on Fridays.
The tournament has been initiated to recognize and further encourage the cricket played among the nation’s population and provide a platform upon which they can showcase their talent.
Speaking of the competition, Duleep Mendis, Chief Development Officer of Oman Cricket said, “This event was in the works for a long time and I’m extremely excited for its imminent launch. It is an opportunity, for those that play cricket to display their talent in a competitive setting. We also want to encourage more people to take up the sport and I think this tournament will succeed in doing so. A big thanks to all the teams that have signed up and I wish all of them the very best”.

The semi-finals and final will take place under the lights at the Oman Cricket Academy.
