MUSCAT: The electronic portal for Zakat services provides a range of assistance to payers as well as the beneficiaries.
The portal presents a set of fatwas related to zakat, penances, and legal rulings related to them.
As on Thursday, April 21, 2022, a total of OMR 1,705,155.446 has been paid through the portal.
This electronic portal for Zakat is supervised by the Zakat Department of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. The ministry seeks to achieve quality in the service of Zakat within the Sultanate of Oman and to raise awareness about Zakat. It also aids in collection and distribution of Zakat.

The department has received zakat requests from all governorates of the Sultanate. It has distributed zakat to all governorates and states according to a number of programs such as the living assistance program, the housing assistance program, the study aid program, the treatment assistance program, the disaster program, and the simple aid program.
