MUSCAT: On Tuesday, the eighth match of the PSM Ramadan Cricket tournament saw thrill and drama at its peak when two strong teams Marala X1 and Mian Mohammad Riaz and Partners team faced each other in front of an exciting crowd.

MRP X1 won the toss and elected to bat first. The MRP team scored 110 runs in 8 overs with losing 5 wickets, Fahad scored a brilliant 36 in just 15 balls with the help of  6×3 and 4×3, Naqas also scored 18 runs in just 8 balls to take his team’s total to a decent 110 runs.

M Kashif bowled extremely well taking 3 wickets in 2 over giving 29 runs. Waseem Ali took 2 wickets for 25 runs.

In reply, Marala X1 was going great with their opener M Majid playing some extraordinary batting by scoring 63 runs with 9 towering sixes and a boundary. After the departure of Majid things were not going well for Marala as wickets tumbled at one end.

For the last ball of the penultimate over, they needed 4 runs to victory. Batters at the wicket ran for their life and ran 3 runs to make the total tie and match gone into the super-over. It was the brilliance of Fahad who bowled super over and gave only 3 runs, MRP completed the super over with 2 balls to spare. Fahad was hailed as the hero of the MRP team and won the MOM for his team.

The ninth match in the tournament was played between Asfandya X1 and Ravi Premium. Team Ravi won the toss and decided to bowl first. The decision was too costly for Ravi as Asfandya X1 batters Saqib and Umer smashed Ravi bowlers to all parts of the ground.

Saqib scored a blistering 71 with 10 sixes and a boundary while his partner Umer scored 59 runs in 15 runs and posted the highest total of the event so far 181 for just 1 wicket. In reply, Ravi Premium scored just  70 runs losing 5 wickets. Asim got 2 wickets for 3 runs. Later Saqib was declared MOM for his 71 runs.
