MUSCAT: A medical team from the Royal Hospital, Sultan Qaboos University Hospital and Central Laboratories have managed to detect a case of a patient infected with a rare bacterial disease.
The bacteria called as Mycobacterium canariasense was found in one of the heart valves, the first case of this infection by this type of bacteria in the world.
The details of the case and its treatment were published by the medical team in a scientific journal.
