LONDON: British newspaper Daily Mail has called the landscapes of the Sultanate of Oman scenic and ideal for visitors to embark on exciting road trips.

According to a new report published by the daily, the population of the Sultanate of Oman is about five million, slightly larger in area than the United Kingdom. The Sultanate has had long-lasting relations with Britain and is an attractive destination for visitors heading to the Gulf region.

Oman is home to distinctive topography with places known for its one-of-a-kind sandy terrain and the elegant Hajar Mountains. Additional to the roads passing through the breathtaking rocky landscape, the occasional diagonal lines of vibrant green cover are a must-see for travellers.

The landscape is also popular for its balconies carved from the face of the rock, the flourishing olive cultivation and its pomegranate and rose yield.

Some visitors who prefer the Green Mountain, part of the Al Hajar Mountains range in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman, indulge in a luxurious lunch on a balcony located at an altitude of 6,561 feet on the edge of the cliff above the valley.
