MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has introduced a new service that lets vehicle owners, whether citizens or residents, to electronically transfer vehicle ownership from one person to another.

The ROP explained that the service was only available for private automobiles with a licence plate number and that the vehicle licence had to be current.

The vehicle cannot be digitally transferred under the name of a juvenile, and the guardian must be present in person, according to ROP. Residents must have a valid residency card and driver’s licence, and residents must not own more than two four-wheel drive cars or saloon vehicles registered during the transfer procedures.

According to the ROP, the automobile must be in Sultanate territory during the transfer period, and a station waggon vehicle registration cannot be transferred digitally. Furthermore, if the vehicle is qualified for technical check, it must pass the inspection, and the beneficiary’s and the vehicle’s records should be clear of any traffic or criminal history.

Neither service party may have had a completed vehicle for more than a year, and the vehicle must be free of encumbrances. In order to submit a car ownership transfer application and signed with the seller’s approval, you must do so in person using digital authentication.

The buyer must sign the consent and pay the transportation fee in person using digital verification, and the buyer must sign and pay the transaction fee within one day after the seller signs the transaction.

Lastly, Muscat Insurance Company, National Life and General Insurance Company, Takaful Oman Insurance, Saudi Arabian Insurance Company, New India Insurance Company Limited, and Vision Insurance are among the companies that must insure the automobile.
