MUSCAT: A team of engineering students from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Shinas has managed to create a device to generate electricity from solar and wind energy.
They intend to use it with the interoperability of clean energy to produce electricity in places where it isn’t available.
Student Ahmed bin Hamad Al Weshahi majoring in engineering at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Shinas, explained that the idea behind creation of this device is based on two ways to generate electricity through solar panels and windmill system. They combined the device with two renewable energies (sun and wind) to produce electricity in places away from cities and areas where electricity isn’t available.

He pointed out that the device has many uses, including camping trips far from the cities. It is also characterised with ease of operation, use and maintaining the production of clean and environmentally friendly electric energy.
They also pointed out that the team is working on developing the project by making an electric generator that works on the pattern of sustainable magnetic energy and operating the electric generator. In order to generate permanent electrical energy.
He added: The team consisting of Mishaal bin Ali Al Weshahi and Walid bin Issa Al Makhmari from the engineering major at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Shinas was able to transform the idea into reality through this device without affecting nature or contributing to global warming, noting that the device does not depend on oil or Gas or coal for power generation, which contributes to saving a lot of money to generate electricity.
And he indicated that the team made the device in several stages, beginning with building the general structure of the device, identifying the components in it from the electrical regulators, solar cells and the air fan, then the stage of installing these tools and linking them to each other in the device through electrical wires, and forming an electrical circuit that meets each other in the electrical regulator, The device has also been tested, its performance efficiency, and the knowledge of how much electrical energy can be produced by those solar panels and windmill.
He clarified that the project can be developed significantly in the future to produce electrical energy through two different systems that rely on clean energy from wind and the sun to keep pace with the development witnessed by the world in general in the production of electrical energy from renewable energy.
