MUSCAT: The Department of Blood Banks Services has announced that those observing Ramadan fasting cannot donate blood during the fasting hours. However, they are allowed to donate blood post iftar.
Donors have been advised to increase the intake of fluids before and after donating blood. The blood donation services will continue at the Central Blood Bank in Bawshar during Ramadan from 7:30 pm until 11:30 pm.
Donating blood is considered to be a noble humanitarian act which can save the lives of the ailing who are in dire need of blood transfusion or other such procedures.
